Styling Your Kid's Hair with Pomade: A Fun and Easy Guide

Styling your child’s hair doesn’t have to be a stressful, temper tantrum inducing experience. With the right techniques and products, you can create adorable and stylish looks that both you and your child will love. Continue reading for a simple guide on how to achieve the best look for your little one using our newest Suavecito Kid’s Pomade.

Why Choose Pomade?

When it comes to styling your kid's hair, you want to make sure you choose products that have safe, hypoallergenic ingredients. You don’t want anything too harsh that will damage their sensitive skin. We know sometimes kids can get fussy, so choosing products with a pleasant smell can help make the whole experience a lot more enjoyable for both the parent and child.

We’ve designed the Suavecito Kid’s Pomade with all these considerations in mind. It is made with gentle, dermatologist-tested ingredients and has a calming chamomile scent. This product also shares some of the well known benefits of our other Suavecito pomades: flexible hold, shiny finish, and is easy to wash out.

Step-by-Step Guide

1.  Prep the Hair

Start with clean, slightly damp hair. Having slightly damp hair helps to distribute the pomade evenly. We recommend washing hair with the Suavecito 3-in-1 Shampoo, Conditioner, & Body Wash, which comes with safe ingredients and a soothing milk and honey scent. This product will help to soften the hair, which will make styling much more comfortable for your child.

2. Apply the Pomade

Start by scooping a small dime-sized amount. You can always add more if needed. Then you’ll want to rub the pomade evenly between your palms to warm and soften the product. This will make it more pliable, easy to work with, and will ensure even application.

3. Choose a Style

Now comes the fun part! For all these styles we recommend using a high quality comb like our Kid’s Styling Comb, which is made with a durable acetate material tough enough to withstand the messiest bedheads. Using this comb as you style will also help to evenly distribute the pomade across your kid’s hair strands, resulting in an even and clean look.

Here are a few easy styles to try:

  • Classic Side Part: Use a comb to create a clean part on one side and then comb the hair downwards on both sides of the part.
  • Spiky Look: Using your fingers, lift small sections of hair and twist them slightly to create spikes. Add more pomade if necessary to hold the spikes in place.
  • Slicked Back: Comb the hair straight back from the forehead. Use the pomade on both of your hands to smooth down any stray hairs for a sleek finish.

These are just a few of the many looks you can achieve with our Kid’s Pomade. This product can also be used to help tame flyaways on various types of long-hair styles such as braids, pigtails, or ponytails. After combing and securing the hair into the desired style, finish the look by smoothing over any bumpy or frizzy areas with a light sweep of pomade.

Tips for a Successful Styling Session

  • Be Gentle: Kids’ scalps are sensitive, so be gentle when applying and styling.
  • Make It Fun: Turn the styling session into a fun activity. Let your child choose the hairstyle or help with the application.
  • Adjust as Needed: Depending on how active your child is on the day of styling, you might need to reapply or adjust the style throughout the day.

Conclusion

By following these simple steps, styling your kid’s hair can be a fun and creative way to help your child express their personality. With practice you’ll be able to create a variety of looks that will make your kiddo feel confident and stylish. Enjoy the process and have fun experimenting with different hairstyles!
