Dia De Los Muertos

Day of the Dead Festival

Day of the Dead has become a highly celebrated holiday today in the United States. What started with an origin in Mexico has now spilled over in the U.S. and is gaining popularity with many communities. Day of the Dead or Dia De Los Muertos in Spanish is a public holiday to honor beloved family or friends who are deceased. The holiday is typically celebrated from October 31st to November 2nd. Deeply rooted traditions celebrate the continuous cycle of life and therefore, it is not a mournful commemoration but a colorful and celebratory one. People visit cemeteries and build private or public altars with photo and memorabilia to encourage the souls to visit.

This time of year is a favorite for many. Creativity flourishes and you will see makeup and clothing finely detailed and intricately designed for the event. With vibrant colors and exquisite makeup it is time to express yourself through your style. Here at Suavecito Pomade headquarters we are always excited for this time of year. We look forward to participating in the events and seeing the different costumes and styles come out. Suavecito and Suavecita will be having their own booths at the Dia De Los Muertos Event in Uptown Whittier and Viva la Vida in Santa Ana. As always we look forward to seeing you at these events! Flyers will be posted on both Instagram accounts @Suavecitopomade and @Suavecitapomade.
